A worldwide celebration!
When a community like INSEAD gets together to celebrate, you know that it will be spectacular! This was clearly demonstrated by the events held in 81 cities across 49 countries for our 2nd Global INSEAD Day. This day celebrates the qualities that makes us uniquely diverse and yet unified and honours our shared INSEAD experience.
So why was this date chosen? On 12 September 1959 INSEAD welcomed its inaugural promotion, marking the occasion with an Opening Ceremony in Fontainebleau. The date commemorated the actual founding of the school three years earlier, when Georges Doriot, a Harvard professor and pioneering venture capitalist, turned an ambitious vision for an international business school into a reality.
Across the globe, alumni met in big and small groups, ranging from conferences, panel discussions, fundraising events, cricket matches, company visits, parties, lunches, random dinners to cruises on the Nile and the Gulf. The list is endless as you can imagine, we invite you to view all the posts tagged with #globalinseadday, which captures the kaleidoscope of global INSEAD citizens.
Please accept our heartfelt thanks to all of the alumni who opened their homes, their offices, dedicated their time and resources in bringing our global family together. We hope that you had a wonderful time and that you will mark your calendars for Global INSEAD Day 2015!
