Young Alumni Xenia and Gleb Frank Establish Scholarship

In celebration of their respective 5-year and 10-year reunions in 2020, INSEAD alumni Xenia Frank  (MBA’15D) and Gleb Frank (MBA’10D) have made a generous gift of €100,000 to the school to establish The Gleb and Xenia Frank Scholarship and provide financial support to five future deserving candidates from Russia.

Gleb is the founder of Russian Fishery Company, the third largest producer of Alaska Pollock in the world. Meanwhile, Xenia is an investor in early stage companies in the area of food and medical technology, with a special focus on companies founded by women. She also serves as an advisor to young entrepreneurs and as an investment judge for the SKOLKOVO Startup Academy. Xenia is Chair of the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation which supports active ageing, sports and culture, and families through more than 500 projects across Russia.

The couple, who have two young children, have been loyal supporters of INSEAD. In 2015, Xenia embarked on her MBA at INSEAD while Gleb took the Challenge of Leadership Executive Education Programme the same year. Gleb went on to complete the Leading from the Chair Overview Executive Education Programme in 2017, while Xenia returned in 2020 to follow in her husband’s footsteps by enrolling in the same Challenge of Leadership course.

In recent years, the pair has done their part for the school by contributing to the Russian Endowed Scholarship Fund and, in 2020, providing assistance with reunion class giving logistics. After hearing about INSEAD’s annual Giving Day, originally scheduled for March 2020, they decided that it would be an opportune time to start their own scholarship fund for incoming students. Despite the school having to make the tough call to postpone Giving Day festivities due to COVID-19, Xenia and Gleb decided to continue with their gift in the hopes that it would inspire classmates and other young alumni to do the same and support the school. With this latest initiative, Xenia and Gleb have become INSEAD’s newest Platinum Salamander holders.

“Our time at INSEAD had a deep and positive impact on our knowlege, skills and global vision. We greatly appreciate the time we have spent here and the friends whe have made. We believe the next generation of business leaders will be enriched by INSEAD, just like us, and we are happy to support their education,” said the couple.
